School Privacy Statement

Wheelock College complies with the provisions of federal regulations governing the privacy and disclosure of student information. These regulations are known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 as Amended (FERPA). Under FERPA, students have a number of rights concerning access, maintenance, and disclosure of their education records at the College. Wheelock employees who have a demonstrated legitimate educational interest in student records may have access to those student records and other certain personally idenitifable student information as defined by the College and within the guidelines of FERPA. The intentional disclosure of students information to any unauthorized person or third party is strictly prohibited and may result in criminal and civil penalties as imposed by law. Willful or unauthorized disclosure of student information could constitute just cause for disciplinary action including termination of employment, regardless of whether criminal or civil penalties are imposed.
